A replacement is required, for example, in situations involving a low battery warning or failure to trigger water flow, where the faucet no longer operates reliably without a new cell.

Lithium technology allows for long replacement intervals: Grohe specifies a battery life of approx. 7 years for the faucets, based on 150 operations per day.
